Terms and conditions

These terms are a starting point drafted around how this business actually operates. They must be reviewed by a solicitor before trading, particularly the cancellation section.

1. Who we are

DoorDeals is a trading name of DoorDeals Ltd, registered in England and Wales. We are a retailer of composite doors, not a manufacturer. We hold trade accounts with Door-Stop International and Solidor, who manufacture the doors we sell and deliver them directly to you.

2. Your contract is with us

When you place an order you contract with DoorDeals Ltd, not with the manufacturer. We are responsible to you for the goods, for the guarantee and for resolving anything that goes wrong. You never need to contact the manufacturer.

3. Prices

• All prices shown include VAT at the prevailing rate and, unless stated otherwise, delivery to mainland UK.
• The price is fixed at the point you pay. Quotes are valid for the period stated on them, after which supplier price changes may apply.
• Where an obvious pricing error has occurred we will contact you before proceeding and you may cancel for a full refund.

4. Your order

• Every door is manufactured to the specification and sizes you supply. Your order confirmation is the definitive record of both. Check it.
• The sizes are your responsibility. We will check them on request and will query anything that looks wrong, but we cannot be responsible for a door built to sizes you gave us.
• We may refuse or cancel an order before manufacture, in which case you get a full refund.

5. Payment

Payment in full is required before an order enters manufacture, because every door is bespoke and cannot be resold. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

6. Changes and cancellation

• You may change or cancel your order free of charge at any point before it enters manufacture, which is usually within 24 hours of payment. Contact us as early as you can.
• Once manufacture has begun the door is made to your specification and cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded except where it is faulty or not as described.
• This is a lawful exception to the usual 14 day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which does not apply to goods made to a consumer's specification or clearly personalised.

7. Delivery

• Lead times are estimates given in good faith and counted in working days from cleared payment. They are not guaranteed and we are not liable for consequential losses such as fitter cancellation charges.
• Somebody over 18 must be present to receive and check the delivery.
• Risk passes to you on delivery. Damage must be noted on the delivery paperwork and reported to us the same day.

8. Guarantee

Our guarantee is set out in full on the guarantees page and forms part of these terms. It is in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which are not affected.

9. Installation

We supply only and do not install. Correct installation is essential to the performance of the door and to the guarantee. Damage or failure caused by incorrect installation is not covered.

10. Liability

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise our liability is limited to the price you paid for the goods, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

11. Complaints and disputes

Contact us first and we will try to put it right. If we cannot resolve it, these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. Nothing here affects your right to bring proceedings where you live.
